I am Adam Steel — a multidisciplinary fine artist and craftsman based in Pringle Bay, South Africa. My work spans faith and biblically inspired pieces, abstract art, nature-inspired paintings, and original works across a wide range of subjects, styles, and sizes.
Faith is a meaningful part of who I am and how I create — it shapes my perspective and informs much of my work — but it does not define the full scope of what I make. I paint what moves me, what I am commissioned to create, and what I believe deserves to exist in the world.
My work is not produced in volume. Every piece I create is made for a specific person, a specific space, and a specific feeling. I believe that art should do more than decorate a wall — it should stop you, move you, and mean something.

Whether it’s an original painting, a print you love, a photograph that matters, or a canvas that deserves better than a standard frame — I build frames that are as considered and handcrafted as the work they hold.
The Work
I paint original works across a broad range of themes — faith and scripture-inspired pieces, abstract compositions, coastal landscapes, nature scenes, and wilderness subjects — each set within a hand-crafted frame built from natural materials. Driftwood, reclaimed timber, resin, and hardwood are shaped and finished by hand to create frames that are as much a part of the artwork as the painting itself.
No two pieces are the same. That is the point.
The Process
Every commission begins with a conversation. I want to understand your space, your taste, and what you want to feel when you look at the finished piece. From there, I develop a concept, share it with you, and refine it until it is exactly right — before a single brushstroke or cut is made.
The result is a piece that could not exist for anyone else.
Based in Pringle Bay
The studio is located in Pringle Bay on the Western Cape coast of South Africa — a landscape that informs much of my work. The ocean, the fynbos, the mountains, and the light here are unlike anywhere else. Clients are welcome to visit the studio by appointment.
